Rev. Leonard Banas, C.S.C., is an emeritus professor and a Holy Cross priest.  He entered the Holy Cross seminary in 1944 and attended the University of Notre Dame.  He received an S.T.L. degree from the Gregorian University in Rome and an M.A. in Classical Studies from Princeton University.  He was ordained in 1952 and taught Classical Languages and Literatures at Notre Dame for 37 years while holding various administrative positions at the university and within the religious community.  He has also been active in local parishes for many years.
