Rev. Gregory Green, C.S.C., has served as a priest-in-residence in Welsh Family Hall since 1997, and prior to that in Siegfried Hall from 1989 to 1997.  However, he has served the University of Notre Dame in various placements for over 40 years.  He has been an Assistant Rector, a Rector, Associate Vice-President of Student Affairs and the University’s Chaplain to the staff.  Except for his Hall-Chaplaincy, he is now retired after 54 years of priestly ministry which has included Parish service in Watertown, Wisconsin (St. Bernard’s); South Bend, Indiana (St. Joseph’s and Holy Cross) with summer Parochial Assignments in Detroit, Michigan (St. Rose’s) and Killeen, Texas (St.  Joseph).  He has also served in the formation of new members to the Congregation of Holy Cross through his service at the Community’s Novitiate, at that time, in Bennington, Vermont, and at Moreau Seminary - Notre Dame. Although retired, he continues to be an active member of the Holy Cross Community at Notre Dame.
