Rev. Frank Murphy, C.S.C., serves as the Faculty Chaplain and the Coordinator of Spiritual Direction Training at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to Notre Dame, he served as the pastoral care counselor at the University Health Center at the University of Portland and as the Superior of the Holy Cross Community there. He spent many years in the District of East Africa serving as assistant parish priest in Holy Cross Parish, Nairobi, Director of Novices, and Superior of the seminary. He also spent two years in training for spiritual direction and directed retreats at a Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario. His first years as a priest were spent at Christ the King Parish, South Bend. Father Frank graduated from Notre Dame in 1980 in PLS, received his M.Div. in 1985, and was ordained in 1986.
