Rev. Daniel Groody elected Fellow and Trustee of Notre Dame

Rev. Daniel G. Groody, C.S.C., associate professor of theology and global affairs at the University of Notre Dame and an award-winning author and filmmaker on international migration and refugee issues, was elected a Fellow and Trustee of the University at the Board of Trustees winter meeting Friday (Feb. 1) on campus.

Final Profession of Vows

On Saturday, August 25, five members of the Congregation of Holy Cross celebrated the final profession of vows during Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame.

Three Ordained Holy Cross Priests

On Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, three Holy Cross priests were ordained to the priesthood - Rev. Christopher Brennan, C.S.C., Rev. Brendan McAleer, C.S.C., and Rev. Timothy Weed, C.S.C.

Conversations with Father Bob Pelton

Peter Cajka is a postdoctoral research associate with the Cushwa Center. He conducted five interviews with Father Bob Pelton, C.S.C., from October 2017 to January 2018. Audio and transcripts of the interviews will be available for researchers by summer 2018 through Latin American/North American Church Concerns at kellogg.nd.edu/lanacc. Father Pelton resides at Holy Cross House in Notre Dame, Indiana, and has been associated with the University of Notre Dame since he first enrolled as an undergraduate in 1939.

Community Members Celebrate Final Profession of Religious Vows

On September 15, three seminarians of the United States Province made their Final Profession of Religious Vows. The Mass of Final Profession was held in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.

From the perspective of 50 years on, with new controversies and a very different papacy, we can perhaps better understand the context, vision, limitations and legacy of the Land O’ Lakes Statement for Catholic higher education and for the church generally.

Notre Dame theologian and Holy Cross priest to address U.S. bishops on refugees and migration

Rev. Daniel Groody, C.S.C., associate professor of theology, will address the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops on the theology of migration during the bishops’ annual Spring General Assembly, June 14-15, in Indianapolis. Groody’s talk, “Passing Over: Migration, Theology and the Eucharist,” draws on his research around the world mapping the many sides of the current conversation on migration.
